I will confess to taking zero photos of Vermont. This is because it looked exactly like New Hampshire and we were only there long enough to pee and buy a map, which we were in desperate need of 5 states back. Before this important Vermont purchase we were trying to find our way around New England country roads with a map of the United States. We were in a constant state of Lost-ness, doing many u-turns and paying outrageous sums of money on toll highways. We paid $6 on one bridge in Rhode Island because we kept driving over it wondering if we were going in the right direction. Sometimes we were.Ultimately, we made it to Portland, Maine where we ate a beautiful (unforgetable) lobster dinner on a floating restaurant - a ship. It was everything it was supposed to be... beautiful, romantic, delicious and definitely, most definitely, worth the drive! My only regret is that it was too dark to take pictures of the tiny cobble streets in Portland, Maine. It was fabulous. Simply fabulous!
