This is how comfortable I feel and how obviously I stand out in east-coast academia!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following statements have gotten me looks of shock and surprise from native east-coasters:
"I don't take myself seriously all of the time."
"I didn't know trees could make that kind of color."
"My therapist says..."
"I'm really very bright."
Meow.......

I can't see the picture?! :(
I had to get used to it, but now I actually like standing out. It's hard to help people overcome their stereotypes, especially since there's usually a grain of truth in there somewhere. Hang in there (and show those Easties)! ;)
