HAPPY BIRTHDAY STELLS!

Today is my gurl Stella (Lori's) birthday!

What better place to be celebrating a summertime birthday than Hawaii, which is where she is right now.

Let me tell you a little story about Stells recent future.

For many years Stella has had an intense desire to live in Ireland – her motherland (well... maybe her great-grand-mother’s land). But, since Stella tends toward moments of insanity, indecision, and obssession (as all of us do) some of her friends have doubted the longevity of her wild idea. “Just ignore it. It will go away,” they told her. “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence,” they warned.

So, Stella tried to ignorge the calling of the Ire.

But, as time went by, it became evident that a small detail went unobserved in her friends' lofty advice. They forgot that everything is greener in Ireland, no matter which side of the fence you’re on.

And, as God would have it, a space has been carved out for this moment in time for Stella to live in Ireland. She leaves the United States on September 10th, with Jeff (husband) and Pheobe (dog), for Queens University where she'll pursue a PhD in Sociology.

I'm so happy for you, Stell. And I can't wait to visit your Irish flat.
